Defender Katie ‘Nipper’ McCrorie has sealed a player sponsorship with local badminton club, Mapperley Park. This is their second season of player sponsorship so we would like to thank them kindly for their continued support
Introducing Mapperley Park Badminton Club
“Its quite unusual really that a club that was formed in the 1970's under the name Mapperley Park, only to play under a different name, should return to it's original roots over 30 years later.
After three decades as Carlton Forum BC, when the opportunity arose via a recent Sport England developmemt to move to a stand alone facility, it was to good to resist. Carlton Forum had served the club well, but it was time to move on. With this we readopted our previous name and moved to MSV (Mapperley Sports Village)
We relocated 6 years ago and haven't looked back.
We are currently the biggest club north side of the river trent and arguably the thrid biggest in Nottinghamshire. We have acheived this through being a friendly yet competitive club, that, despite having no players that represent the county, our top teams play in Division 1 and the Premier Division.
Badminton has become less social over the last 10 years but we feel that with the right balance, both success and great nights out go hand in hand. Oh, and we don't take ourselves to seriously...
Please feel free to contact us via the website to find out more or if you are interested in joining”.
