Season 2016/17

Now the season draws to its end, we already look towards the next one. I think it's safe to say we are all looking forward to it.

A lot has changed since my arrival at the club. The atmosphere within is on a high, teams look more competitive, the players are raising their game and are pushing for recognition with hopes of a higher level of football.

So what must we do to continue this upward trend?

It's simple............we work even harder!

To compete against the bigger clubs, we have to become one!!

We have to think BIG! Promote the right player mentality, have club player development and outside club recruitment (if neccessary). Along with the scouting of talent, must be priorities.

It really is all about our thought process!

  • What do we offer?
  • How do we do it?
  • What do we look like?

To those watching or looking at us, we must look the part. If we are to be taken seriously we must do all of the above. It starts with you, the players.

It doesn't take out the fun in what we do. The relaxed family and fun atmosphere should continue and there is a great togetherness developing throughout the whole club and we must use that as a tool for progress. The word discipline sounds harsh but it doesn't have the meaning you might think. What I am looking for along with all the staff, is in training and games we get 100% concentration for the duration of that time. The fun element will always be there but remember what the priority is.

This is about the bigger picture. Too long this club has been a sleeping giant so if you as individuals and as a club want the recognition then we have to work for it. Accept nothing, want everything as there is nothing wrong with that. We have a chance, we have to take it. I myself have been on the threshold of getting further with previous teams but it comes  to nothing if you don't have the support of the club or the real togetherness that success requires.

Well ladies, we have that at this club so do you want it enough, that's my question?

We will be demanding, we will be pushing you to be the best that you can be and we will expect the discipline that senior football demands. Next season will not be for the faint hearted.

I believe in you so I will leave you with a quote that sums up the important aspects

"You must believe in what we are to do, if not, it will not work'
