First Game In The EMWRPL

A below par performance from the 1st Team saw them squander 3 points. Anstey Nomads overturned a 2-0 deficit at half time to win 3-2 with the winning goal in the last 2 minutes.
Despite being 2 - 0 up at half time with fine finishes from Amy Gauvrit and Mollie Rowden, both goals brilliantly created by Courtney Walters, the Eagles just couldn’t get their usual flowing passing style going. The long ball and quick forwards of the opposition were a constant threat but a Player of the Match performance from goalkeeper Kaci Riley kept the Eagles in the game.
When the opposition pulled a goal back the momentum of the game changed, this was made worse by the loss of captain Jen Lorimer to injury only 10 minutes into the second half.
It looked like the Eagles would hold on to a point but Anstey took all 3 with a goal right at the death.
A disappointing outcome but plenty to build on so we focus on the next game and move on.
