England v Estonia Junior Fanzone

Posted by Richard Povey on 9 September 2016

Supporters attending England’s Euro 2017 qualifier against Estonia at Meadow Lane will get the chance to visit the FA Junior Fanzone before the game.

The Fanzones, which are run in association with Continental Tyres, are aimed at children aged 5-16 and provide an interactive football experience.

The Fanzone will be open from 5pm outside Meadow Lane, ahead of the Lionesses’ final home match of this qualifying campaign.

As well as football activities there will also be hair braiding and face painting. There will be an interactive trailer that houses trophies and digital stations to teach children about different aspects of the game, and supporters can test their skills and reflexes at the Fanzone’s speed cage, target shoot, quick feet and batak boards.

Notts County players will be there to meet fans and Charlotte Lade, one of the world’s leading professional football freestylers, will be demonstrating her skills.

Caroline Hulme, FA women’s football national project officer, said: “Since we launched in 2010, the Fanzones have been really successful in encouraging girls to try out football and hopefully go on and play regularly.

England matches do attract a family crowd and our Fanzones are a good way for supporters to enjoy the atmosphere before the game.

We’ve worked hard with Continental Tyres to ensure that there’s a good mix of football and lifestyle activities to attract fans before kick-off.

The Fanzones also really help to build the excitement ahead of our big matches and we’re looking forward to welcoming fans to Nottingham.”

Guy Frobisher, marketing director at Continental Tyres, added: “The FA Girls’ Football Festivals with Continental Tyres continues to grow year on year, giving tens of thousands of young girls from around the country the chance to get involved with the sport.

At Continental Tyres we are extremely proud that 2016 is our sixth year partnering with The FA and undoubtedly is set to be the biggest and best so far.

Who knows, perhaps in a few years’ time we may see a number of our festival attendees playing for their country.”

Tickets for the Estonia match are on sale now, priced £7.50 for adults and £3.50 for children.

A family ticket is available, via phone booking only, priced £15 (two adults and two children) while group booking discounts apply.

Tickets can be bought via TheFA.com/Tickets or by calling 0115 955 7210.
