Away to local rivals GSB on a sunny day with a gentle breeze, with the girls looking forward to the game.

The girls started well attacking straight from the kick off, forcing Dynamos to clear their lines on a couple of occasions, with Evie-Rose battling for everything and well supported by Ava, Millie and Mala. Dobbo was strong in the tackle and Michele using her pace to clear out danger. Lacey was called into action and made a smart couple of saves, showing good hands.

GSB then scored a couple of goals with some great passing and movement, giving Lacey no chance in goal. We stuck to our task and again had a couple of attacks, with Millie and Evie-Rose combining on the right and Ava and Mala on the left. Some excellent defending blocking our shots on both occasions.

Time for our subs to come on, with Sav in goal and Grace on for Millie. We gave as good as we got but the difference was they had a player, now up front, and she punished any mistakes, firing a quick couple of goals past Sav. She would have had a hat-trick but for a brilliant save from Sav, pushing the ball out for a corner. We then surged back with Mala running strong down the left, cutting inside and shooting just wide. Then a shot from Evie-Rose, well saved. We had a couple of corners that were well defended and from one of them Dynamos broke away and a shot across the box from the left somehow found its way into the net! From the kick off we attacked down the right, Grace neatly dribbling past her marker and putting a great ball into the middle that evaded Evie-Rose and the inrushing Mala.

At half time the team talk was all about keeping our shape and keep passing the ball as we had been doing. We made a change, bringing Dobbo off, putting Evie-Rose at the back with Michele and putting Ava up front; Mala stayed on the left and Grace on the right with Millie battling away in midfield.

It was end to end for the next 10 minutes and our fitness showed with more great runs by Grace and Mala, and solid defending from Michele. Ava was causing problems for their defence and surely we would be rewarded….and we were! On 42 minutes a swift break out of defence, with Evie-Rose passing to Millie, on to Mala who turned her marker and cut inside; Ava made a superb run to the right, taking the defenders with her, allowing Mala to hit a brilliant shot across the keeper into the net – GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

We played the last 15 minutes on the front foot, but missed out to a couple of breakaways. Lacey stayed in goal for the rest of the game and Sav came on to give Mala a deserved break. Sav made a couple of runs and one fantastic piece of play, winning two tackles in the middle of the park and sliding the ball through to Ava, who shot narrowly wide. Then the final whistle and plenty of smiles all round after a fantastic team effort

Player of the Match was Mala, for some great support play, rewarded with her goal!
