1st team sign off in style

The EMRWFL Division One North 2021/22 Champions Arnold Eagles finished their league campaign in style with a 3-0 win at home to Notts County Development at Calverton yesterday afternoon.
A harshly awarded penalty against the visitors for handball was easily dispatched by Tasha (31st goal of the season) before Emma scored her 1st goal for the club after a lovely turn and emphatic finish across the Notts keeper, which gave the Eagles a 2-0 half time lead.
Despite the title already being secured we wanted the ladies to complete the league season with a 100% record at home and despite some resolute defending from the young County side our victory was secured when Tasha (32nd goal in 16 games) found the bottom corner after a lovely driving run and pass from Eve.
Victory was complete but we’d like to make a special mention to Notts County Devs, under the guidance of Thomas Hodges who provided our ladies with a ‘guard of honour’ after the final whistle. A class gesture from a top football bloke and his team who made for a hard fought and entertaining end of season game.
POTM went to Emma after a dominant display in the engine room topped off with a great goal.
Finally as we sign off for the 2021/22 season the management team of Neil, Ian, Courtney and Matt would like to thank everyone who has helped support our fantastic team this year, all our competitors for some excellent matches and their level of performance and most importantly the Arnold Eagles 1st team squad for the dedication they have shown throughout the season to gain a much deserved league title and promotion into the EMRWFL Premier Division. ⚽️💜🦅💪
